I am a SAHM/teacher. Mostly I stay at home with my three children (2 girls, ages 6 and 8 and 1 boy, age 14 months). A few days a week I do some substitute teaching. I really enjoy what I do. For fun I like to scrapbook, take pictures, read, and spend time with friends. I also like to cook, but I go in spurts. Our family will get a week or two of delicious full meals and then I'm exhausted and take a few days off. During these days, my husband will make tomato soup or pancakes or whatever is easy and quick and doesn't require a recipe. I always use a recipe (although Rachel Ray is convicing me otherwise) and I love eating and making food that tastes *great*.
I love the idea of being organized and doing OAMC, but the implementation of these two ideas happens a whole lot less than I'd like. I tell myself it's because I've got young kids at home and work outside the home part time that being organized doesn't seem to be a reality in my life. In reality, my life would probably be a lot easier if I was just more organized.
Another idea I love is baking. I love the smell and taste of homemade bread. But I haven't found a recipe that really works for me yet. I've got great muffin, cake and pizza crust recipes though (which I make often). So I'm on the lookout for a great bread or bun recipe. Suggestions???
My favorite meal to cook is an Ethiopian meal. My Ethiopian friends have taught me how to make many delicious dishes. I love Ethiopian food and have introduced it to many of our friends. I sometimes get calls from friends asking if I've got some Ethiopian leftovers in my fridge. Other than Ethiopian I eat almost everything as long as it's prepared well and has great flavour.
