about me

I am a big foodie that lives with my husband of almost five years in Boston and our two dogs. I adore cooking and I love restaurants, love to read menus, etc! We live in the city (South End) and there are fabulous restaurants surrounding us. We have a lot of favorites that we like to go, to relax and catch up after a day of work, but I also love trying new places. Though, my husband says I have spoiled him and that he has better meals at home than anywhere. What a compliment! I started cooking when I was in the 3rd grade, my parents would let me make french toast or pancakes for them and my siblings on the weekends. I also used to love to help my Mom make lasagna. I have always enjoyed spending time in the kitchen.

I work full time and my dogs are very active (4 year old female Vizslas) so I have to keep most of my meals fairly quick. I make more complicated meals on Sundays. I started using Zaar several years ago and I absolutely love it. I really don't have anything that I keep "in rotation" and I am not a big repeater. I try to buy all organic ingredients that are available and I cut out overly processed food. Lately I have been freezing a lot of leftovers. That way if my husband is looking for a quick meal, he can just grab and microwave. I am definitely a cook and not much of a baker, mostly because I don't have a big sweet tooth.

Another favorite past time is curling up with my cooking magazines! I get so excited to see them come in the mail. I get Gourmet, Bon Appetit and Cooks I11ustrated.

Favorite Foods:

I have a lot of favorite foods. I absolutely love Mexican food, I spent a semester in college in Mexico and I still daydream about the great food I had while down there. I also enjoy French, Italian, simply grilled steaks and seafood, and I could go on!
