about me

I am a very lucky lady. I live in a small town in Ontario, Canada with my wonderful husband who is my best friend.

Our son, beautiful daughter in law and granddaughter live in the big city close by, so we get to visit with them frequently.

We are very excited, we are first time grandparents ...Yeah!

She's here, she's here, Introducing Miss Carlin Blake ....

When we found out that the baby was a girl. Six pair of feet never touched the ground that day. I'm sure that we lit all the light bulbs in the neighborhood, with the sheer force of our smiles.

We couldn't wait to meet our grandbaby, she arrived a little late but was definitely worth the wait...we are all so thrilled to finally meet her...it was love at first sight, we are completely in awe...she is perfect.

We share our home with three furbabies, our cats (aka - the spoiled ones). The tabby tag team of Isis the warrior princess and her big brother Brute, the scardy cat and Miss Charla.

My mother's cat, Miss Charlotte moved in with us over a year ago. She is a very regal and loving girl, a beautiful Calico, the queen of the furbabies and boy she knows it.

She is still trying to rule the roost but too no avail...the warrior princess will not allow it.

You better believe that life is good for the little monsters and that they rule the house and us. The motto at our house is "Wish I Was A Cat".

Baby Kato was a ferral cat who gave birth to four adorable kitty's in our backyard. (Isis, Brutus, Angel and Seth).

My passions include family, friends, pets, baking, reading, biking, gardening, photography, rock collecting and bird watching.

I LOVE Recipezaar and am still so pleased to have found this site.

If you have ANY questions about ingredients, techniques, equipment or temperatures this is the best reference library I know...there is always someone who will happily answer your query.

In the five years that I have been a member, I have grown so much.

My cooking and baking continues to improve, as does my photo taking (a work in progress) thanks to all the wonderful people here, who are willing to share their recipes, secrets, tips, hints, skills and talent.

Thank you all so much. My hats off to all the talented chefs & photographers on this site.

I was a PAC HOST for 3 rounds it was challenging but alot of fun...I still miss it.

It was fun working with the other Pac Hosts: SusieD, Saturn, Brenda, CharlotteJ, Tinkerbell & Annacia.

Annacia & I ran the Newbie Nursery and then the updated Preemie Care Center...we had so much fun.



Today, I (Lady Latte) co-host with Annacia (Brew Mistress) in the COMFORT CAFE.

The Comfort Cafe opened its doors on Jan. 1st, 2009. It is a month long event that is held twice a year, in January and July.

We have alot of fun...come on by and take a look...you won't be sorry.

The Comfort Cafe can be found in the Contest and Events Forum...You can't miss us, we are the thread with all the chocolate, coffee and tea recipes.

We will watch for you in 2010!

I participated in cookathons for my friends Kitten and Lazyme and also for CoolMonday and Derf. You are all in my heart and thoughts.

Favorite Foods:

Selecting a favorite food is difficult for me. I love spices, herbs, textures and intense flavors. If I had to choose one item that I couldn't live without, it would be BREAD.

I must say that I do love my comfort foods though, potatoes, rice and homemade baked goods.

I try to prepare fresh, flavorful food that appeals to all our senses. I enjoy contrasting tastes and textures in food.

My personal favorite cuisines are Thai, Greek, Southern, Asian and Carribean.

My favorite meal would be Thai...Let's see, Buco water, Lemon Shrimp Soup, Green Mango Salad, Red Curried Beef and steamed Jasmin Rice.
