Hi, My name is Susie and I live in Texas in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with my husband, son and our 3 Siberian Husky's that we rescued from a couple of different rescue organizations.
I am originally from Madrid, Spain but to look at me you would never know that. I do not look the part of the misconception that most people have of the stereotypical Spaniard. But most people don't understand that the original Spaniards were blonde and blue eyed. That is the category that I fit into. And of course that means Royalty and they don't call me a Princess for nothing! Just kidding, but I am so very proud of my heritage and love to joke about the royalty part since I have the coloring.
I have a 16 year old son that is growing so fast I am not sure where the time went, but have loved most every single minute of it. He is the light of my life. I am so lucky to have such an incredible child. I am married for the second time to the most amazing man and we have been married for almost 9 years. Seems just like yesterday when we met. He makes me laugh all of the time and most importantly he LOVES my cooking.
But I believe that even if I didn't cook that would be allright with him. That I cook and cook well (at least in their opinion and that is all that matters) that is a bonus, he says.
Living here in Texas has been quite an experience. It is just a bit hot for my tastes and I think also for my husbands. Our goal is to make it to Colorado one day. I want the snow. Not this darned heat we have so much of. We do have a good start on the idea of being in the cold, since we have the 3 Siberian Huskys. We adore them and want to go to Colorado or somewhere that it is cold, for them, my husband tells me.
He says we have a good start on our sled team. What a comedian he is. Anyway, that is pretty much me in a nutshell. Being Spanish, incredible son, amazing hubby, awesome dogs and COOKING!
Cooking. That is my hobby, my lifeblood, whatever you want to call it. I do not feel complete (most of the time) if I am not cooking. That is my absolute favorite thing to do. Cooking, cooking and more cooking. Anything and everything. I am open to all suggestions and love to cook it all.
I think that the type of food I have the most luck with is anything sweet. I like to bake bread from scratch, and all kinds of cookies, cakes and desserts. All from scratch, for sure. And of course I have to cook for everyone. My husband, you would think, should weigh 500 pounds but because he is a Surveyor he walks every day and gets all the exercise that he needs. Thank goodness because he eats so many sweets that sometimes it amazes me that he can eat all of that and still stay an average weight. And my monster child will eat it ALL. So I am fortunate in the fact that he and my husband love every single thing that I cook.
My favorite food to eat I think would have to be seafood. I love crabs and anything that has crabmeat in it. Crawfish is also another of my favorite foods. Doesn't matter how you cook them or what you put them in, I love crawfish, but crabmeat would have to be the ultimate as far as I was concerned. Stuffed shrimp with crabmeat. Yummmmmyyyy. Filet mignon (second favorite type of food) stuffed with crabmeat. Heaven for my tastebuds!
And of course the stuff that runs through my veins, CHOCOLATE!!!! Couldn't live without chocolate.
That's me. Hope I didn't bore you too much. I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to email me. I love hearing from new friends. Have a wonderful time in your kitchen.
By the way, this site in awesome. Thank you for having a place where so many people with the same interests can get together and share.
