Retired and loving it! Canadian who lived and worked in eight U.S. cities for eighteen years and loved every minute!
Now volunteering at a community centre operated by Catholic nuns.
I love cooking from scratch. I am particularly interested in truly affordable, low-cost recipes and cooking tips. Current interests include Once a Month Cooking -(O.A.M.C). Cook for a day, eat for a month.
Back in 1945 Mom and Dad owned a restaurant, grocery store, chip wagon even a butcher shop here in Ottawa. I was exposed to cooking at an early age. I could have been a chef! I could have been a contenda!
Currently collecting family and favorite recipes to pass on to my children and grandchildren.

Authentic French Canadian Pork and Beans made from scratch. No molasses, brown sugar, mustard, tomato sauce and absolutely NO canned beans. Just plain heavenly pork and beans.
