Time for an update!! (Feb '09.) I am taking a break from the busy and crazy life of being a chef. I have been the executive chef of two great restaurants and have had many other food service jobs. There is no way for me to keep up with such a demanding job and care for my 1 year old son they way that I want, so I work part time at place where I do a lot of prep work and am responsible for cakes, pies, cookies and any other desserts I can make and sell. I have nights and weekends off, which to me, is such a cool concept I can't say I have a favorite food, but I love to cook anything. I try out all kinds of things at work and some at home and play with the recipes until they're just the way I like them. I am allergic to shellfish, but I have a natural knack for cooking it. People can not believe I will serve something I can't taste, but I havn't had many dissapointed diners
I am really enjoying cooking for my husband and son. I love to cook and being in a restaurant environment often takes the joy out of it, but now that I am home a lot more I can cook what I want at whatever pace I want and I am loving it.
RecipeZaar has been so much fun for me this year, I have found a lot of great recipes and ideas from a whole lot of very creative cooks and chefs here.
