I grew up overseas (Foreign Service brat). My Mom regularly prepared amazing food for the cocktail parties and dinners she and my Dad gave. My maternal grandmother was also an awesome cook. Unfortunately, their love for cooking didn't quite rub off on me. I'm trying to find that special spark to encourage me to cook more. I have a diabetic husband, open-minded (including food-wise) 18yo son and an extremely picky 14yo son--his idea of food is an order of Chicken Selects from McDonalds.
I am pretty open to anything. I was never a picky eater growing up--although I despise liver and oninons! lol I primarily fix chicken--and more chicken. I need to move out of that mode and open myself to new avenues of cooking. I recently purchased a Nu-Wave oven and I've been pleased with how thoroughly the food cooks. A whole 7.5 pound chicken cooked in under two hours. I don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen (I work full-time and I am also a part-time student), so I'm looking for quick meals that taste awesome. ![]()
