I spent a number of years in the restaurant business, primarily in the front of the house. I did have the opportunity to work with and watch a number of great chefs. I began my own foray into cooking as a way to wind down from my work at the office. I have developed quite a reputation amongst friends as a good cook and have had a number of people ask me to return to the restaurant business and open a place in our community.
Don't know if I really have a favorite. I enjoy a wide range of foods.
I enjoy cooking Indian, Italian, Mexican, and Thai cuisines. Growing up in a primarily Norwegian community, I also have a taste for some of the more bland "comfort foods" of my youth.
I cook with all types of meats and cook extensively with venison.
My girls enjoy my fettucini alfredo dishes, my made from scratch chicken nuggets, and my venison brats.
My friend often request my venison back straps which I marinate in a soy/wine based marinade and serve over wild rice risotto.
