I've only really started cooking about 7 years ago and I'm almost 40! I just got married a year ago, so I have really been doing a lot of cooking and entertaining this past year. I'm basically self taught from reading cookbooks and searching the internet for recipes. I just found Recipezaar a few days ago and I love it so far! I have already tried several recipes with success. I think I still have a lot to learn, even though all of our friends think I went to culinary school! I told them that all I ever do is follow directions from recipes, they don't believe me!
I love all kinds of foods and have cooked all different types of ethnic foods. My favorite is probably Chinese, even though I'm not good at cooking Chinese food. I think Chinese food is the most difficult to prepare because you need the "big flame" and a well-seasoned wok. Most homes are just not equipped for that! Plus, there are so many wonderful and inexpensive Chinese restaurants in our Chinatown that it's just easier to go out and get Chinese!
