A yummy tropical syrup that can be poured over ice cream or cakes, or add club soda or your favorite mixer for a delightful drink!

1 3/4 cups (change servings and units)

    Pulse mangoes in a food processor until finely chopped.
  2. 2
    Bring mangoes, sugar, and water to a boil in a heavy medium saucepan, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until mangoes are very soft, about 30 minutes. Stir in lime juice and strain thourough a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently on and then discarding solids. Cool, then chill, covered.

I had an extra mango to use, so I chose this recipe and made half a batch. We used it to make a cocktail, which we mixed the mango lime syrup with a 1 1/2 ounces of vodka and a splash of Club Soda. They were very tasty. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Sharon. Made for "Please Review My Recipe" tag game.

    This was very easy to make, however, it was just a tad bit too sweet for me otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. Mangos are naturally sweet and I think the extra sugar wasn't really needed. But that's just my taste. I mixed it with sparkling mineral water because I don't like to drink soda anymore - so I'm always looking for something to jazz up selzer or mineral water. Thank you for sharing this Sharon!
