I love this cabbage salad from my dear friend Lois! It is a salad with so many variations in the dressing's that you can make for this salad I will include some ideas in my notes.

SERVES 6 , 6 servings (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
chop cabbages red & green in thin slices set aside in refrigerator.
  2. 2
mix next four ingredients together taste dressing to see if you want to add the sugar.
  3. 3
mix cabbage with dressing to desired taste and salt and pepper to taste.
  4. 4
Dressing if any leftover, will keep for a couple of days refrigerated.
  5. 5
Note: if you do not have dressing ingredients on hand blend a sour cream base dressing with a white vinegar or be creative use what you like! The 1/8 cup of apple cider vinegar may be rice vingar, as to how much of the apple cider vinegar you use is up to taste. DH likes the rice vinegar better. I use the apple cider vinegar for health reasons.

We enjoy coleslaw and cabbage salads - we also like variety when it comes to the dressing. Made as posted - with Hellmans of course - the cider vinegar and rice vinegar along with the rest of the ingredients combined so well giving me a wonderful salad to go with our casserole we had for lunch. Have added it to my collection. Thank you oilpatchjo and be sure to thank Lois!
