    Mix the oats with 1 1/2 cup water in a small heavy based pan. Stir in the milk and bring to the boil.

    Cook the oats for about 7 minutes, stirring constantly until thick and creamy.
  3. 3
    Serve immediately with brown sugar, yogurt, cream or milk.
  4. 4
    Variations: Stir 1/4 cup of sultanans in the last 3 minutes of cooking.

    Serve with stewed apple or dried fruit compote.

There's nothing better than a good bowl of oatmeal for a hearty satisfying breakfast. So good for you too Nothing to add, nothing to delete. Perfect.

    One of the few foods that hasn't been bioengineered. A high fiber and complex carbohydrate that can even be used as a facial mask. Now that's one radical food.

    Quick, healthy and delicious! The addition of milk while cooking enhances the creaminess of the dish, I also added a pinch of salt. I served it with a sprinkle of brown sugar, a dash of cinnamon and a bit of milk around the edge. Serving size is quite generous as well. Thanks for a great breakfast! Made for Sweet Traditions Tag.
