Berbere is a hot pepper seasoning essential for most Ethiopian dishes. Containing garlic, red pepper, cardamom, coriander, chili peppers, cloves, allspice, and various other spices. Cayenne pepper is often used as a substitute. It is traditionally used in stews and soups. It is very easy to make your own mixture if you cannot find it available in your grocery store or specialty store.
