African birdseye chile pepper

A small (up to 1") and very spicy pepper. The peppers are green when immature and bright red or purple when mature. Piri-piri is the name used in Portuguese and several African languages for this pepper. Peri peri is also the name for the piquant sauce made from these chiles and also the method of cooking prawns, chicken or anything else in this sauce.
