Anotehr fantastic recipe for the holidays - for that dessert tray!!

Ingredients

Directions

    Stir together flour, oats, brown sugar and soda. Cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly. Press 2/3 of the mixture into an ungreased 9x13 pan.

    Spread the 1 cup of jam or preserves over top.
  3. 3
    Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.
  4. 4
    Bake at 375F for 25-30 minutes.
  5. 5
    Cool and cut into bars.

These were really good and easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly as written other then I used unsalted butter instead of margarine as that is what I had on hand. I used red raspberry preserves. I cooked for 25 minutes but the sides were too hard. Next time I will cook for less time.

    Easy and so addictive ! Any jam can be used and I did plum one end and berry the other . I just love this slice.

    I can rate this right away because I use to make them at Xmas for the family - easy and so very good. Also have used mincemeat rather than jam which is very, very tasty. Good reheated with a spoonful of icecream!!!!
