Hummus of Doom

Recipe #386134 | 14 min | 10 min prep | add private note

By: Chef #1355741
Aug 18, 2009

Hummus and vegans go together like vegans and soy. I've been tweaking hummus recipes for the past few years to find the perfect one for my tastes. Here is the result.

2 1/2 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 350°F Spread sesame seeds evenly on baking sheet and toast for 4-5 minutes. They should have a deep brown hue. Be careful not to burn them.
  2. 2
Mix sesame seeds and garlic in blender (these two need the most blending). Add rest of ingredients and mix until the texture is to your liking.
  3. 3
Serve with pita bread, cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber and olives. To make a great bagel spread use a little less oil and blend so the hummus has a thick as opposed to liquidy texture.
