Great recipe for the family, doesn't take long to make. You can cook it with the biscuits on top, or you can cook them separately just use it like a gravy.

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ounce) can biscuits

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

  • 1 (8 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken soup (your choice)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup ketchup

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 400.
  2. 2
Brown hamburger and onions. Combine softened cream cheese, soup, and milk. Combine browned hamburger and onions to mixture, add ketchup and salt.
  3. 3
Mix well together and pour into 2 quart casserole dish. Place biscuits on top and bake until biscuits are done.

I saw the bad reviews but it has ingredients that my kids like. It was pretty good. The kids really liked it but the biscuits didn't cook very well for me.

Even tho reading the bad review I thought I would give this recipe a try. I did not add the ketchup, because I am not a ketchup lover. I did use the cream of mushroom. I am not sure what the first person was talking about with the biscuits, but you really just follow the directions on the biscuits package. The hamburger is already cooked, so you aren't cooking anything but the biscuits. I put it on the middle rack of the oven, and it turned out just fine. I did however add some pepper to mine, but it was a quick and easy recipe to make, and was edible!

Just gross. I used the cream of chicken istead of the cream of mushroom. The cream cheese is just way over the top. The weird thing is that it says you can put the biscuits on top of the mixture and bake until the biscuits are golden brown. That only took 15 minutes although at the top of the recipe it said bake 40. Did not make sence. I took it out as the biscuits would have been burnt. When I took it out, the outside of the biscuits were done but the inside of the biscuits were gross and not even close to being baked. If I would have put it in for another 1/2 hr the biscuits would have burnt. I instead put it in the microwave at 5 min at 1/2 power. That made the biscuits perfect, but the hamburger, cream cheese, cream of chicken and ketchup was just nasty. Take a chance, but have another alternative ready incase you don't like it! We did not eat it, it went to the garbage disposal. Sorry Tom, but maybe your taste is different than mine, and I hate to be such a bad review for the first review, but it is what it is. Thanks anyway...
