This recipe has been a family favorite. We make it every 4th of July.

SERVES 10 , 1 cup (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Mix cornstarch with 1/2 c of milk.
  2. 2
    heat in saucepan until smooth & thick with wire whisk.
  3. 3
    in another bowl mix sugar, eggs, salt, abd condensed milk.
  4. 4
    Add some of the sugar egg mixture to the cornstarch to temper. lumps are too easy at this stage.
  5. 5
    add cornstarch mixture to rest of egg sugar mixture with a wire whisk.
  6. 6
    add vanilla and cream and top off with whole milk until your freezer is full.
  7. 7
    best if made a few hours ahead of freezing to "ripen".
