Got this recipe from my mom. It's a super awesome pound cake with a thick and crunchy crust. Grandma used to make this for special occasions.

SERVES 8 , 1 cake (change servings and units)

    Cream sugar & shortening.

    Beat in eggs, one at at a time.

    Fold in flour on low.

    Add vanilla.

    Bake 1 1/4 hrs at 325 F in a tube pan.
