This is a Danish meatball. They said it was in a very old cookbook. Serve over parselied potatoes.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs, dried
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 pinches thyme
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup cream
  • 3 tablespoons oil

Directions

  1. 1
    Mix everything except flour, cream and oil.
  2. 2
    Let rest 1/2 hour.
  3. 3
    Make balls.
  4. 4
    Dust with flour.
  5. 5
    Save flour.
  6. 6
    Brown in oil.
  7. 7
    Add remaining flour and cream and let cook together until gravy forms.

    Serve over parselied potatoes.
