Dom's Stuffed Mushrooms

From Dom DeLuise. Dom's preferred way to serve these is as a side dish, but they can also be used as appetizers.

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. 2
    Remove stems from mushrooms, and set caps aside.
  3. 3
    Chop mushroom stems.
  4. 4
    Heat olive oil in a skillet, and brown onions and garlic.
  5. 5
    Add mushroom stems, and brown over low heat.
  6. 6
    In a bowl, combine onion mixture with egg, bread crumbs, cheese and parsley, and mix well.

    Stuff mushroom caps with mixture.
  8. 8
    Place mushrooms on a baking dish.
  9. 9
    Add soy sauce and water to the bottom of the dish.
  10. 10
    Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes.

    Remove foil and continue baking until golden brown.

Wonderful stuffed mushrooms! I did a few amount adjustments and added in cayenne pepper and used my Kittencal's Seasoned Dry Italian Breadcrumbs and reduced the Parmesan cheese to 1/3 cup, this will be enjoyed tonight, thanks for sharing Pat, this was made for KK's cookathon

    Yes, I enjoyed these very much! I made my own breadcrumbs when I discovered I was out. I halved the recipe easily. Thanks! Made for 123 Hit Wonders game.

    YUMMY! YUMMY! I cut the recipe in half and was sorry I did so. The mixture tastes like stuffing! I followed it exactly and will make again and again! Thanks!
