This is especially good served over gingerbread.

SERVES 9 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    In 1 quart saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Gradually stir in water until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring often until boiling.

    Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

    Stir in butter, juice, and peel until butter is melted. Serve warm.

I was going to make a loaf of gingerbread, but then decided to do a batch of gingerbread cookies instead & used the sauce as a dip ~ OUTSTANDING, & a definite keeper of a recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my adopted chefs at the end of the current PAC)
