Creamed Peas

I use this recipe whenever I make samon patties, good on buttered toast as well, or just as a side dish to any meal. Sometimes I double the sauce for extra saucy peas!

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can peas (drained)

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (or more to taste)

Directions

  1. 1
    Melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat, then add flour and stir until blended.

    Stir in milk and salt, pepper, and sugar bring to a boil and stir until thick.

    Reduce heat add peas and heat until warm.
