Vegan Nightshade-Free, Tomato-Free

Default avatar

Cookbook by

Angela C

Help relieve arthritis by avoiding plants in the nightshade family!
Free of: Tomatoes, Potatoes, Eggplant, Peppers (Of any kind), such as Bell Peppers, Red Peppers, Chile Peppers, Pimientos, Cayenne Pepper, Chili Powder, Paprika, and other spices made from peppers. Sweet potatoes and black pepper are NOT in the nightshade family so they are okay to eat. By the way, Tobacco is also in the nightshade family; yet another reason to avoid it! The nightshade-free diet has worked for one of my family members I'm so VERY happy to say!!! I wish we could have discovered this much sooner. She had knee pain since a child. Only now that she's in her mid-fifties have we found the reason and the cure for her. She is fine now that she avoids all nightshades for the last few years. Tomatoes seem to bother her more than potatoes. She occasionally eats small amounts of potatoes without suffering. We learned of it in Dr. Sherry A. Roger's book Pain Free In 6 Weeks and Sherry Rogers learned of it from Dr. Norman K. Childers and was cured of her symptoms. She is extremely sensitive to nightshades and cannot eat small amounts ever. According to Dr. Sherry A. Rogers in her "Pain-Free In 6 Weeks" book, about 70% of patients are relieved from arthritis pain by following a night-shade free diet. It may take a month to notice results since the nightshade alkaloids and such are stored in the body and take time to clear from the body. She also says that those with arthritis may want be helped by also eliminating beef, pork, lamb, wheat and milk. Dr. Sherry Rogers also has other books such as The Cure Is In The Kitchen, You Are What You Ate and Macro Mellow and many others. If you have any questions about this or have any recipes for me, please Z-mail me! Here's a link for more info: ProHealthArthritisSupport.com We have not tried any of these recipes yet. While tomato-free is probably more difficult because it is in so many foods, I think potato-free is more difficult since most people love and miss their mashed potatoes and french fries. Creamy Roasted Garlic Hummus

(26 reviews) Posted by What's Cooking?
