This can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous. And why is this most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

SERVES 2 , 1 cup (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
  2. 2
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
  3. 3
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
  4. 4
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
  5. 5
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high).
  6. 6
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

This was nice for a quick chocolate fix. Loved the portion control especially since my husband doesn't like cake and sweets. Now I can have chocolate and not be stuck with a bunch of it leftover! It had nice flavor but the texture was a little bit off — almost rubbery/chewy. It was still yummy though! Thanks for posting.

Calling all chocolate lovers! Here is a wonderful and easy dessert for just two! My better half is already asking when am I going to make this again. LOL! I have a huge mug- holds 12 ounces-I just measured it-and this recipe fits that size. I made as posted. And the clean up is easy too!

I enjoyed this little cake even though I didn't do a good job making it. I couldn't have been easier to mix all the ingredients together. My problem is I cut the recipe in half and although I reduced the cook time, I didn't reduce it enough so part of my pretty little cake became a bit overdone. That was not fault of the recipe only of my own. I still enjoyed it though! Made for PAC spring '09
