Christmas Cherry Ham Glaze

This may also be served on the side as a sauce and doubles well, for the best flavor I recommend to use a good quality cherry preserve such as Smuckers

SERVES 8 -10 (change servings and units)

Directions

    In a medium saucepan combine all ingredients; bring to a light simmer over medium heat.

    Reduce heat to low and simmer stirring for 5 minutes.
  3. 3
    The last 30 minutes of cooking the ham remove from oven and baste with the sauce.

    Continue to cook uncovered for 30 minutes.

I also think the ham glaze is amazing even though I ignored the direction not to substitute anything for the red wine vinegar. Instead I used white wine vinegar since that's the only thing I had. Also, instead of basting on a ham, I grilled a hamsteak on the grill and basted it with the sauce and then added more sauce when I served it. Made for New Kids on the Block 2009.

    I gave this a try without the ham and wow, wow Kit this sauce is amazing, well I expect nothing less from a Kitten recipe, thank you very much this is fantastic
