Chris' Grilled Jalapeno Wraps

Recipe #367934 | 25 min | 10 min prep | add private note

By: Poohrona
Apr 25, 2009

This a recipe that my son came up with one day while playing in his kitchen and when I tried it, I fell in love! I love that he uses turkey bacon instead of pork as we do not eat pork products anymore. This is a tasty treat that leaves you wanting more.

SERVES 6 , 12 1/2 jalapenos (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Wash jalapenos and remove stems.
  2. 2
Cut them in half lengthwise and remove seeds and veins. (Wearing a glove is a good idea).
  3. 3
With your fingers, stuff peppers with cream cheese then put a small amount of cheddar on the cream cheese and wrap with a slice of bacon.
  4. 4
When wrapping bacon around pepper, start with the end of bacon on the cut side and gently press bacon into the cheese to hold and repeat with other end if it ends on cut side.
  5. 5
Grill for 10-15 or until bacon is browned and peppers are desired tenderness, turning once.

Very tasty! Made these for appetizers - and I thought they were delish! Some of the jalapenos were mild and others were really hot. I like spicy food. I didn't have turkey bacon, so I used regular. You have to watch them closely on the grill so they don't flameup (probably because I used "real" bacon. Will make again!
