Chocolate Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe #391382 | 22 min | 10 min prep | add private note

By: The Sugar Witch
Sep 22, 2009

I made a batch of these an ate nearly the whole batch by myself! Yikes! But soooo yummy. Not to mention I invented this recipe on the spur of the moment in the midst of a serious chocolate craving. Dark Chocolate is for romance, milk chocolate for nurturing, and peanut butter for the prevention of poverty. If you mix it all together you get steadfast love in times of hardship! Go ahead and switch the peanut butter for hazelnut spread (wisdom) or almond butter (love) if you want a diiferent flavor.

SERVES 12 -15 , 24 -30 cookies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. 2
Cream the butter, peanut butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the extract and the egg, blending well.
  3. 3
    Sift the dry ingredients.
  4. 4
Gradually add the dry ingredients (about 1/2 cup at a time) to the moist ingredients, mixing until smooth after each addition. When all of the dry mixture is incorporated, mix in the chocolate chips by hand.
  5. 5
Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto greased cookie sheets 2 to 3 inches apart. Bake 12-14 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the thickest cookie comes out with only melted chocolate on it. Cool on cookie sheets 3 minutes and transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
