Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe #398645 | 23 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Miss Lester

This is a recipe from an old family friend, the only chocolate chip cookie recipe I ever use. I like to underbake these slightly for a soft cookie, but you can leave them in a little longer for a crispy golden cookie. The butter flavor crisco and the rum extract give these cookies a really nice flavor.

8 dozen (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Cream together the margarine, shortening, and both sugars.
  2. 2
Add eggs and rum extract, and mix well.
  3. 3
Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl, and add to the butter and sugar mixture a little at a time until well incorporated.
  4. 4
    Mix in chocolate chips.
  5. 5
Drop by spoonfuls on a cookie sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven for 8-12 minutes depending on how soft or crispy you like them.
  6. 6
Makes approximately 8 or 9 dozen cookies.
