Enjoy this for breakfast or as a snack. It's made from a delicious and nutritious combination of bananas, creamy yogurt, rich soy milk, almond butter and cocoa. Adapted from Whole Foods.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks (fresh or frozen)
  • 6 ounces vanilla soy yogurt (or regular vanilla yogurt)
  • 3/4 cup vanilla-flavored soymilk (or rice milk or almond milk-more or less to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (carob is good too!)
  • 1 tablespoon finely ground flax seed
  • 1 tablespoon honey (more or less to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional)
  • 1/2 cup ice cube (optional)

Directions

  1. 1
If using frozen banana, you can skip the ice if you wish.
  2. 2
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and process at top speed for about 1 minute or until smooth.
  3. 3
Pour into a glass and serve. Enjoy!

The title says it all in that it is a dream...tastes dreamy...dreamy creamy drink and my new favorite special treat ...I didn't have the yogurt the first time so I used tofu and sweetened it first with honey and vanilla...made for a thicker shake that way (but almost too thick to drink w/ out a spoon)...got the yogurt the next time and loved it ...a perfect dream (better than the best chocolate milk memory from childhood)...now I have more yogurt and I am very excited 'cause I found chocolate soy to try it with !!! (Have to note to definitely include the nutritional yeast it adds to the flavors dramatically and will not disappoint you)... ps... {{I've been playing with it more too...yesterday (inspired by the spoon idea) I made a big batch as "ice dream" used a block of tofu added date and nut and seed "chips&chunks" & some coconut butter to add more body... also some cinnamon and chili spices - than put it in the freezer to hide it from myself {{{lol}}} - I have to try to enforce some self control with this one I hope it will help me in my journey away from real ice cream- or at least trick me on the way }}} This potion is a dream come true - (it has also inspired my to add cocoa and nut flavors to my spinach drinks) LOVE-love-LOVE it ...Thanks for sharing the dreams Sharon - DE-LISH!!!
