This recipe is for an easy appetizer for Christmas time. I love serving festive appetizers and this is a great one. Originally from Kraft Food and Family. It is super fast and makes a presentation. If you don't like string cheese I sub in a long thicker pretzel stick/log as the trunk and it looks and tastes great. Merry Christmas. Enjoy. ChefDLH

SERVES 12 , 12 servings of 2 Tbsp. spread and 5 crackers (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
CUT block of cream cheese diagonally in half. Arrange both halves, with points together, on serving plate to resemble Christmas-tree shape.
  2. 2
CUT a 2-inch piece from the string cheese. Place at bottom of tree for the trunk. Wrap up remaining cheese; refrigerate until ready to use for snacking or other use.
  3. 3
SPOON pesto over cream cheese; sprinkle with peppers.
  4. 4
SERVE as a spread in the middle of plate and surround with the crackers. (put a spreader or knife nearby for guests to spread on crackers).
