My mom used to make this instead of rice crispy treats. Honestly I like these way more than the rice crispy version. For a twist, use Honey Nut Cheerios. I have set it up so that the Prep time is the the time on the stovetop and cook time is the time to let it set up in the pan. Enjoy!

SERVES 8 -10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Melt the Margarine in a large pot. Add the Marshmallows and stir until melted.
  2. 2
Now, add the Cheerios a little at a time and stir them in so that the cheerios are completely coated. Keep adding Cheerios until no more will be coated.
  3. 3
Pour the mixture into a 9x13 pan and allow to cool. Slice it up and eat.

These are so good! I grew up eating rice krispy treats, and thats what i always made for my kids, I never tried cheerio squares before now. I recently discovered Multigrain Cheerios; i love that cereal, (i pour some in a plastic bag and snack on them all day), anyway i used the multigrain cheerios in this recipe and i can't get enough, i'll be making this alot. Thank you.

Yummy treat! I used Honey Nut Cheerios and 4 of my grandkids were my taste testers. They loved them and took the recipe home with them. Thanks Lord Bezoar for another great recipe. Made for PAC Spring 2009.
