This baked up into a tall, lovely looking loaf with a fantastic smell as it baked. I was disappointed somewhat in the flavor - for a cheese bread, this didn't have as much cheesey taste as I had expected and I also could not detect the onions at all. I also found it a bit too salty. Some patches of my bread were still moist, despite measuring precisely and not making any changes to the recipe. I am sorry, perhaps others will enjoy this more.

This bread turned out beautifully for me — it does have a really wonderful texture, and nice flavor. Thanks so much for sharing it. I did want more of a cheesy taste, so when I make it again (and I will!), I will probably just run the "dough" cycle, then shape it into rolls with some onion & cheese sprinkled on top before baking for extra flavor. Thanks again, Chia!

I had a really negative experience with this recipe resulting in an overflow which was a potential fire hazard. I had scaled down the recipe because when I looked at the metric conversion the recipe seemed too big for the pan. I scaled everything down by 2/3. what I had forgotten is that while fluids have a 1:1 conversion ie 250 ml of milk weighs 250 g in the pan, the same can't be said of flour. So the 960 ml does not equate to 960 g but rather 600g. [Duh!] So I made the recipe with the same amount of flour but less of everything else. I will say that while my bread turned out disasterously probably due to this, it had a fantastic smell and the crust which was the only bit cooked thoroughly, tasted wonderfully cheesey and the onion came through well. Take home message? Watch out for conversions and scaling and remember that fluid and dry ingredients don't necessarily weigh the same. This recipe has real potential provided you don't muck about with the proportions intentionally or otherwise.

This bread came out fabulous! The texture was great and the flavor was very mild. Just a touch of onion taste....couldn't really detect a cheddar flavor, but the cheese probably contributed to the wonderful texture. We finished the whole loaf in one sitting and I have to say this is one of the best loaves that has come out of my bread machine! Thanks for sharing, everyone just loved it!
