Another big batch BBQ sauce found in The Times-Picayune provided by SC BBQ pit-master J.T. Handy. Fourth of July is right around the corner! Thinking slow smoked ribs with this sauce... maybe some chicken too!

5/8 gallon (change servings and units)

    Combine all the ingredients and slowly bring to a simmer. Simmer on low heat (using a heat diffuser if you have one or a heavy bottomed non reactive pot) until the sugar is fully dissolved.

    Keep a close eye as this sauce can scorch very easily.

    Stir frequently.

    Let cool.
