Caribbean Way Smoothie

Recipe #396401 | 5 min | 5 min prep | add private note

I found this recipe online at themommyplaybook.com. My son loves Smoothie King's version and this is supposed to be a good copy. I haven't tried it yet, but will in a few days. I just wanted to post it so I would have it accessible. **The recipe calls for papaya juice but Recipezaar changed it to papaya nectar.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix the first 4 ingredients in a blender until pureed, then add ice until the mixture becomes a smooth and thick consistency, at least 1 minute Pour into cups and enjoy. Also, it is essential that you use the Turbinado Sugar, and quality Papaya juice to achieve the same flavor of a Caribbean Way Smoothie from Smoothie King. You can use fresh or frozen fruit for the Strawberries and Bananas.
  2. 2
~TIP~I've found that when I buy fresh fruit if I freeze it, it lasts a lot longer and I get a better consistency in my smoothie. If you freeze the bananas, peel them first, then slice them into fourths, and put them into a freezer Ziploc baggie. Their a lot easier to deal with if they are already ready to go into the blender as soon as you get them out of the freezer.
