I have tried this meal this summer (it is not summer's meal, but...) and it was suprise for me. It is so light and refreshing, not heavy meal we used to eat in North Croatia. This become my favorite. It is very simple. The origin of this recipe is from village Vrisnik on island Hvar.

SERVES 2 , 2 portions (change servings and units)

    Wash sauerkraut in water. Heat lard and add sauerkraut, pour wine and add bay leaf. Cook about 20-30 minutes or until sauerkraut become soft and translucent. Add some water during cooking to prevent burning. Serve hot with BBQ meat.
