Black Cat 13 "formula 1 Detox " Sorbet for Smoothies

Recipe #361827 | 1½ hours | 30 min prep | add private note

By: BlackCat 13 Chef

Not for those who seek guilty pleasures, this tart, "herby" sorbet is a base for our signature line of health smoothies. Customers requested a sorbet that was "strictly business" when it comes to health and were willing to sacrifice lots of the usual sugar. They also wanted the extra fiber so we left in the pulp from the fresh fruits and vegetables. Additionally we left the skin on the fruit and veggies for optimal nutrition and fiber. The sugar could be further reduced or eliminated if so desired.... but a sorbet should be at least a little yummy, right? Tart, sweet and 100% healthy.

SERVES 25 , 25 scoops sorbet (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Boil the water and sugar together and stir until sugar is fully dissolved. Let cool. On high speed, blend basil leaf into sugar water. One at a time add other ingredients, pureeing as finely as possible. Put in ice cream machine and stir until slushy. Remove and put in freezer until frozen. Use as a base to make a truly super-healthy smoothie. Herbs and vegetables all specifically work together to cleanse and rejuvinate your body.
