Ingredients
- 2 cups 100% bran
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 item(s) eggs
- 1 cup molasses
- 5 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon table salt
- 4 cups buttermilk
- 4 cups bran flakes
- 1 cup raisins
Directions

Boil the water. Place 100% Bran in a bowl and add boiling water - let soak.2
In a very large bowl, mix sugar and margarine; add eggs & molasses.3
Mix in flour, baking soda, & salt.4
Add Bran flakes, 100% bran mixture and buttermilk - mix well.5
Bake @ 400 C for 15 minutes.

Very good recipe but, take this as a warning, this is a HUGE recipe. It makes at least 5 dozen... That said, I used half wheat flour, half white. I also replaced the wheat bran with oat bran. I would warn that the soaked bran should have a little of the buttermilk liquid mixed in with it before adding it to the batter- it didn't really dissipate very well. Otherwise, VERY good! If you, your kids, you neighbors, your dog and your church potluck like bran muffins, then this is the recipe for you!=)
