Recipe #374958 | 1 hour | 45 min prep | add private note

By: Lady Lisette
May 29, 2009

This filling can be made into dumpings or wontons. Baked, fried, steamed or boiled they are delish. And so tasty dipping sauce is optional.

SERVES 10 , 60 dumplings (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Finely mince green onions. Combine all filling ingredients squeezing to combine well.
  2. 2
Dip a finger in water and run it around the edge of your wrapper. Drop 1 1/2t of filling into the center of your wrapper and pinch closed. Place dumplings on baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. (At this point the dumplings can be frozen and transferred to a plastic bag.)
  3. 3
Arrange a single layer of dumplings in a steamer basket and steam over boiling water for 7 minutes.

Yum! These were super easy and super good! My son commented that he couldn't believe I'd made them, by hand; they seem too complicated. However, they couldn't have been easier. I used the wonton wrappers I had in the freezer, which were square-ish. I thought they were easier to handle, round, so I used my Pampered Chef biscuit cutter/crimper to cut them into rounds, and crimp them closed. (Next time, I'll buy the round wrappers) I steamed them, bicycle spoke fashion, in my rice cooker/veggie steamer, for 10 minutes. They came out perfect, with the best flavor, too! Thanks!
