I saw a recipe on line for sweet/hot pickled peppers that has bourbon in the brine. Now I can't find it! I have about 6 lbs. of jalapenos ready to be canned. Can anyone help me, PLEASE??!!

I searched by ingredient, but one of the pickled pepper recipes in the RZ database list bourbon as an ingredient. Could it have been on another site?

Hi and welcome to the forums, Chef. It's lovely to meet a new friend. icon_smile.gif

Google does not find this recipe. I looked through about six pages and checked the Jim Beam and Wild Turkey sites...no luck. Absolutely nothing on 'zaar, either.

I'd like to invite you to click on FAQ's and Additional Information for Recipezaar Navigation, a thread FULL of great information that will make your 'zaar experience much easier.

If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to ask. There's ALWAYS somebody around that would be happy to help. icon_smile.gif

Through no fault on your part, the # sign in your chef name negatively affects the quote function in the forums. It would be helpful if you'd edit your name to remove it. Click on MY ACCOUNT at the top of the page, make the changes you wish, scroll down and SAVE CHANGES.

You're going to LOVE it here.

I'm pretty sure I saw the recipe on Google but I'm not positive.
I've got a lot of jalapenos that are ready to be pickled. Do you have any really good recipes you can recommend?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Molly53,

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. I took your advice and changed my name. Thanks for the hint.

Do you have any pickled pepper recipes you can recommend or another website I should try? RecipeZaar is a great site, I've been having a great time reading recipes and comments.

Thanks for your help,

Click on Pickled Jalapenos. If you give it a try, recipe reviews are very much appreciated.

I just finished making Jalapeno hot sauce over the weekend.I made 20 1/2 pint jars...

Here's a link to the exact recipe I use (please note that I do not seed the peppers as the recipe states. I make the recipe seeds and all...then I run it through my foodmill):

I also use this same recipe with other types of hot peppers as well, using only one type per recipe. I, sometimes, add homemade tomato sauce to the recipe and make another variation. The possibilities are ENDLESS icon_smile.gif

Molly,

Here's a link to the EXACT model I have on Amazon. I love this thing...been using it for 3 years now!

The best thing of all, it works wonders with tomatoes too! I make homemade tomato sauce, paste, juice, etc. and the food mill eliminates having to remove the skins of the tomatoes...it removes the skins and the seeds. If you use the larger plate, it works wonderful for apples, and many other things!

Here's the link:
