Looks yummy!

As a Canuck, on the other side of the border, you might want to "look" at our "Peameal" version of this, with a tad of garlic!

Any number of "options" flash by me with this cut; if you thin out the slices, they fit very well to a "Clubhouse" sandwich, or, shaved just a little more thinly, to a "killer" Monte Cristo...I could go on, but won't, or I'll be refridgerator raiding in the middle of a "diet"

Dr. DOH,
This cured pork loin is virtually unknown here south of the border. I'm old as dirt and never heard of it before. Why do you from the frozen north keep this hidden from us?

Loren, you are much, much older than "dirt"!

"Dirt" has been scientifically proven to evolve over a crummy 38 years (Oh those trivia things that stick in your memory! Why can I never remember any of the good stuff?)

As for the Canucklehead "secret" of "Canadian Bacon" and such (there's a lot!), you just need to accept that we, too, have our "regional specialties", as do you guys...

Hard to find "Texas BBQ", or many of your highly desireable "rubs" and "mobs", crawdads, "Maine Lobster" and countless other examples in Canada.

On the other hand, we have wild rice, "Northern" blueberries, Arctic Char, and a whole whack of distinctively fantastic foods that are difficult, at best, to access in the USA.

I was just a bit surprised that the original poster, in "upstate New York" was that close to "Canadian Bacon", as you call it "Peameal Bacon" as we know it, and we have "Garlic Sausage" that we don't tell you guys about...a lot of our Army is in Afghanistan; we might get "invaded", if too many of you Yankees find out about it!

LOL!

Oh, playing hard to get, eh? I doubt we'll be invading any time soon - even for your peameal bacon. icon_lol.gif

You'll be "invading" for our Public Health Care, "cheap" Prescription Drugs", and such, with a surprise attack of seniors, the VISA and AMEX cards, out and at the ready...

Well now after reading this and seeing that great picture it's got me thinking. That's one thing I haven't dabbled in yet. Anyone got any recommendations on a good slicer. I have every other kind of toy for Q'n I may as well have some fun with this too. icon_smile.gif

I see some on the net but would like real life reviews before I jump in on this.

TIA icon_biggrin.gif
