Hi!
I was wondering if anyone out there can help me find a wonderful and yummy Greek cookie recipe, although I do not know what it's called. I had a Greek friend in high school years ago (since then we lost contact) and her mom would make these butter-like cookies that had spices and nuts inside and were rolled in powdered sugar. They were devine, and the mom usually made them around Christmas time. Any help would be great!
Thanks
Marcia

Evelyn, is it maybe finikia (or is it spelled fenikia?)? Actually, I don't have a good recipe for that cookie, and it's my absolute favorite - Ev, do you have one?

Fenikia/Finikia is really a variation on melomakarona - with a stuffing. I don't have a recipe posted. Please post yours - I'd LOVE to try it this holiday season.

Marcia, Evelyn is right, it's Kourabiedes and it does melt in your mouth. I have the recipe on here and it's listed under 175945 and I've used it for years. It is definitely authentic. I also have Melomakarona, #175945 that you will like. Every Greek cookie is fantastic in it's own way and it's amazing how different each recipe is. My grandmother and her sisters-in-law seemed to be competing with their cookies.
