icon_arrow.gif make sure that all the recipes IN that cookbook are public (any recipes added from the database are public)
icon_arrow.gif click on the edit cover link on the cookbook box

icon_arrow.gif click on that link and drop down menu will come up with a list of all of your cookbooks
icon_arrow.gif choose which cookbook you wish to add the recipe to icon_biggrin.gif

To delete recipes from your cookbook

icon_arrow.gif Click the little blue arrow next to the recipe title and then on the remove from cookbook link.
icon_arrow.gif This works best if you wish to remove only one or two recipes.
icon_arrow.gif Be sure to refresh your browser afterwards.
OR
icon_arrow.gif To remove many recipes at a time, click in the description area of the recipe (be careful not to click the title or the recipe will just open).
icon_arrow.gif The green tab on the right of the description box will change color and the word "select" will appear.
icon_arrow.gif Select all you need to, doing only one page at a time, and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the trashcan icon on the bottom right to delete recipes. icon_biggrin.gif

To copy recipes from main cookbook to a specialty cookbook
icon_arrow.gif create the specialty cookbook
icon_arrow.gif check the tab next to the recipe you want to add. It will change color
icon_arrow.gif at the bottom of the page click on the "Add" button
icon_arrow.gif this brings up a separate drop down box that lists all your cookbooks
icon_arrow.gif find the cookbook you want to add the recipe to and click on move
icon_arrow.gif close out box and you are done
icon_arrow.gif Close the list of cookbooks pop-up and then click on the garbage can icon to remove those recipes from the cookbook you are in.
icon_arrow.gif Now your recipe should be moved to your selected cookbook and removed from the main cookbook. icon_biggrin.gif

To move multiple recipes
icon_arrow.gif Click on the tab just to the right the description area of the recipe in your list of recipes. You will notice a color change.
icon_arrow.gif Select all the recipes you wish to move on the page (do only one page at a time) and then scroll down to "Add" button and click on it to display your list of cookbooks.
icon_arrow.gif Choose the cookbook you wish those recipes to be in.
icon_arrow.gif Close the list of cookbooks pop-up and then click on the garbage can icon to remove those recipes from the cookbook you are in.
icon_arrow.gif Now your recipes should be moved to your selected cookbook and removed from the one you have open. icon_biggrin.gif

To re-order recipes in a custom cookbook (change the order they're in):
icon_arrow.gif Click on either the cover of the cookbook you wish to edit on your cookbooks page or on the name of the cookbook from the drop-down list.
icon_arrow.gif Click on ORDER RECIPES
icon_arrow.gif Grab the mitten next to the recipe you wish to move by hovering the cursor over it; hold down the left-side mouse button and drag it where you wish.
icon_arrow.gif When you're done arranging your recipes, click on I'M DONE REORDERING icon_biggrin.gif

Linking cookbooks to your about me page from Kim D.

Since we can't "save" our favorite cookbooks, here is a way, using html codes, to link the cookbooks to your About Me pages! icon_biggrin.gif When I want to go to a particular cookbook, I just go to my about me page and click on the link. It is a little time consuming, but once it's done, it's very helpful! icon_biggrin.gif You can see how they look by clicking on my about me page and scrolling all the way down to the bottom!

Here's how to do it....

icon_arrow.gif When you are in a cookbook you want to save, write down the book number (which is at the end of the web address in the address box) and the name of the book on a piece of paper.
icon_arrow.gif Go to "edit my about me page" and copy and paste the below formula into your about me page text. (I put mine at the very bottom).

Here is the formula:

<li><a href="http://www.recipezaar.com/mycookbook/book/39226">Did Someone Say Bread!!!???</a></li>

icon_arrow.gif You will then need to change the # and cookbook title to the cookbook # and title you want to save.
icon_arrow.gif Make sure you save your changes to your about me page.
icon_arrow.gif Repeat the process as many times as you like to save all your favorites! icon_wink.gif

I'm not sure what you mean by regular cookbook...to make your recipes public, go into your private recipes and click on the recipe you want to make public and there underneath your screen name click on make public and follow the directions ~ very easy icon_smile.gif

HELP! Please don't think me crazy (well, ok, I might be slightly crazy) but I can't figure out how to link my favorite cookbooks to the About Me Page. I thought I followed the directions (which really sounded so clear) but I think I'm not really getting it. Here's where I'm getting really confused (which is right at the first step!) I am going to My Stuff and then I get confused at 2 spots - - should I click on the "View My Public About Me Page" or the "Edit This" at the end of the section that says "About Me" ? When I go to the "Edit this", I type in the formula (with the right number and name of the cookbook) Then I hit "Save Changes". Here's where I am really confused. Where does it save it to? I can't find it!! Help! I hope I didn't confuse you as much as I am confused! I'm going to keep trying to do this till I figure it out!!

Thanks sooooo much for your help, patience and guidance!! Sharon

Ignore me - ignore me - ignore me!! I finally figured it out and I'm almost there. I now have just a few more "technical" questions for you (in case I can't figure it out on my own) Would you mind looking at my "about me" page? See how my linked cookbooks are posted separated from "my shared cookbooks" by my ribbon and the words that say "About Me"? How do I move the location of my linked cookbooks?

I looked at your post about making our page look like Nancy's. I'm apparently confused - what's new. It said to copy the page's url (where is that at???) I think I need tutoring in computer posting!! Got some suggestions of where to go? Thanks!! Hugs, Sharon

To change the location of your linked cookbooks, highlight, right click, click on copy. Scroll down to where you want your cookbooks located, right click, click on paste. Go back up and highlight again, right click and click on delete to get rid of the cookbooks in the wrong place. I hope that makes sense!

A page's URL is in the long white box in your browser. Highlight, right click, click on copy. Then you can paste it whereever you want.

I'll be in and out of this forum today, so if you need help, just post. It may take me longer than usual to answer, but I will or someone else can help icon_smile.gif

When I am on the "My Stuff" page (where I see the "My Public Information and edit the "about me" information), I can't find how to edit or move the icon above the "about me" section. When I hit "edit this"on the icon one, it doesn't let me move or delete the icon on the page. I can hit "copy" on the cookbooks but it doesn't let me move it where I want to do it. The "paste" doesn't show up for me to click. HELP!! What in the world am I doing wrong? I can't edit from the page that says "view my public about me page", - should I be able to do so?

Thanks for your help. This is now driving me nuts!! Hugs, Sharon

You have to edit from your *My Stuff* page ~ you can't edit from *view my public about me page*.

Your things are in the correct order:
Shared (or Public) Cookbooks first
Your icon (yellow ribbon)
Cookbooks you have linked on your page
Your about me paragraphs
Pick A Chef icon

You won't be able to move the icon ~ look on my page...it's way down there.

Are you trying to move your linked cookbooks? If so, highlight it all from your my stuff page (where you see all the html, etc., right click, click on copy, move to where you want it (most people put them below there pictures ~ in your case, your pick a chef picture), Right click, click paste. Don't forget to go back up and delete them so they are not on your page 2 or 3 times.

Your shared (public cookbooks) cannot be moved, just added to.

Don't get frustrated ~ we'll get it right!

I would be fine with putting the linked cookbooks under my chef picture but I can't even find the chef picture section on the edit page. What in tarnation am I doing wrong? I did get excited because I went ahead and moved recipes of one cookbook into a new cookbook on "My Cookbooks" section and then named it the name of the Chef. I'm hoping I did that right. We'll see. I'm driving my husband nuts - been playing on this silly computer all blasted afternoon & it's been great!!! Thanks for helping me out! Hugs, Sharon
