Baked Spareribs With Sauerkraut

This recipe is an easy one-pan meal.

    Preheat overn to 400 degrees.

    Place sauerkraut in a mound in the center of a small roasting pan.
  3. 3
    Season the spareribs lightly with salt and pepper, and fold them each in half.
  4. 4
    Between the folds, place slices of onion.
  5. 5
    Cover the sauerkraut with the folded ribs.
  6. 6
    Bake in the oven until they are browned, about 45 minutes.
  7. 7
    Baste frequently with juices (add water if necessary) and turn ribs over when brown.
  8. 8
    Reduce oven heat to 350 degrees and cook for 1 more hour.
