Baked Brie En Croute

Recipe #367328 | 35 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Dedee Royale
Apr 22, 2009

For those who can't cook this is a cinch to make. And for those who never tasted brie, will love it this way. I make this a tradition for New Year's Eve or whenever I have the girls over and it's always gone in minutes.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. 2
Defrost puff pastry for approximately 15-20 minutes. Unfold.
  3. 3
Roll out the pastry dusting it lightly with flour on both sides forming a loose square. Brush off excess flour.
  4. 4
In a saucepan melt the butter over medium heat.
  5. 5
Saute the walnuts in the butter until golden brown, approximately 5 minutes.
  6. 6
Add the cinnamon and stir until the walnuts are coated well.
  7. 7
Place the brown sugar in the center of the rolled out puff pastry.
  8. 8
Add the walnut mixture on top of the brown sugar.
  9. 9
Next place the brie on top of the brown sugar.
  10. 10
Gather up the pastry all around pressing it onto the brie firmly to seal.
  11. 11
    Brush with egg wash.
  12. 12
Flip brie over and brush again thoroughly. Do not flip again.
  13. 13
Place the brie on a cookie sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until pastry is golden brown.
  14. 14
Before cutting Brie it must rest for 15 minutes else it will be too runny.
  15. 15
    Serve with crackers.
  16. 16
NOTE: For a special look, cut extra pastry into leaves, hearts, or flower shapes and place on top.
