Avocado Poke or Tartare

Poke is a type of Hawaiian appetizer made with raw ahi tuna, and seasoned with various sauces or vegetables. This is a different twist on a traditional favorite!

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces fresh sashimi grade ahi tuna steaks
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 ripe avocado, medium to large size, pitted and diced
  • 1/4 jalapeno, seeded and diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1 fresh lime, juice of
  • sea salt and fresh pepper

Directions

    Cut the ahi into small cubes and combine with all other ingredients.

    Toss to mix.

    Keep on ice and serve chilled.
