Aunt Sharon's Stuffed French Toast

Yummy change up from regular french toast. She served this at the Bed and Breakfast she and my uncle owned in Parkersburg, WV.

SERVES 4 -6 , 8 -10 slices (change servings and units)

Ingredients

french toast sauce (optional)

Directions

    Stuffing:.
  2. 2
    In a Mixing bowl bring Cream Cheese to room temperature, then beat it till fluffy.

    Add Maple Syrup, just enough to add flavor and desired amount of pecans.
  4. 4
    Slice French Bread about 1 inch thick. Cut a slit through top to form a pocket in bread.

    Put teaspoon of stuffing in each slice.
  6. 6
    Beat together egg, milk, salt, desired spices and vanilla.

    Heat a lightly oiled griddle of skillet over medium-high heat.

    Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides.

    Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden.

    Serve hot! Great with French Toast Sauce.

    Mix all into pot and bring to a boil. Turn to medium until it thickens. Add berries.
