This recipe came from my Aunt Betty (yes, I had an aunt named Betty; yes, she made Apple Crisp; yes, I was reluctant to title the recipe 'Apple Brown Betty' or Aunt Betty's Apple Crisp for fear people wouldn't believe me). This recipe is similar to Apple Torte (Easy-Only 3 Apples) but with enough differences to make it unique.

SERVES 6 -8 (change servings and units)

    Core and cut up apples and place in buttered baking dish.

    Sprinkle cinnamon and add water.
  3. 3
    In a bowl, mix sugar, flour and butter until crumbly.

    Spread dry mixture over apples.

    Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

    Cool 10 mins before serving.
