Recipe #399004 | 20 min | add private note

Here is something just a little different. If you like Applebutter and/or Jam you will enjoy this. I got this recipe from my Mother in law and sold out of it the first trip to farmers market.

10 -12 jars (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 quart apple cider
  • 2/3 cup red hots red cinnamon candies

  • 1 (1 3/4 ounce) package dry pectin
  • 5 cups sugar

Directions

  1. 1
In a large pot, combine the cider, candy, and pectin.
  2. 2
Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring often.
  3. 3
Add sugar and return to a rolling boil.
  4. 4
Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. 5
Remove from the heat and skim off any foam.
  6. 6
Carefully ladle hot jelly into sterilized half-pint jars, leaving 1/4 in headspace.
  7. 7
    Adjust caps.
  8. 8
Process for 10 minutes in a boiling water bath.
