Zucchini Au Gratin (Thanksgiving)

Another way to make zucchini!

SERVES 6 -8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat and stir in flour.
  2. 2
    Add milk and stir until smooth.
  3. 3
    Add lemon juice, nutmeg and Tabasco sauce.
  4. 4
    Add zucchini and mix well.
  5. 5
    Stir in egg.
  6. 6
    Pour mixture into 8" pie plate or quiche pan.
  7. 7
    Combine crumbs and cheese and sprinkle over the top of the blend.
  8. 8
    Bake at 450 degrees F. for 35 minutes.

    Brown briefly under broiler.

    I used half zucchini and half squash (because that's what I had...) and I was surprised at how almost sweet this dish was. Very delicious.

    This is great!! I added some minced garlic and about 2Tbs.chopped onion to the mixture. I also added a crushed up chicken bouillon cube in the milk/flour mixture along with some black pepper.I used half whipping cream and half milk and I added some Monterey Jack Cheese on top with the parmensan cheese. We really enjoyed this very much! Thanks for sharing your recipe
